The Norwegian Customs (Tolletaten) may impose fixed penalties for minor violations and has developed a digital solution for this.
These digital fixed penalties are issued and accepted via mobile phones carried by customs officers. Customs is obligated to provide travelers with a receipt for confiscated goods, and therefore the fixed penalty noticeis delivered as a link via SMS to the phone number provided by the traveler.
