Digitoll for Road Transport
This page provides information on how Digitoll is used for road transport border crossings, including procedures at different locations.
Border crossing at Svinesund and Ørje
At these border crossings, ANPR cameras are in place and border crossing is automated with signal boards displaying the registration number together with the appropriate routing signal. Norwegian Customs has produced brochures in several languages that provide simple guidance for drivers on how to proceed at these locations. These brochures may be downloaded and distributed to drivers.
If a red routing signal is displayed, the driver must report to the customs office.
At other road border crossings, the driver must always report to the customs office. There, they may use a tablet to enter the vehicle registration number to obtain the routing signal. If a red routing signal is displayed, they must report to the service counter.
Ferry ports and other border stations
At ferry ports and other road border stations that are not Svinesund or Ørje, drivers must report to the customs office until a new border-crossing solution is introduced. The advantage is that processing time will be reduced, as the information will already have been pre-processed.
For ferry transport, goods vehicles with drivers may use Digitoll at the following locations: Larvik, Oslo, Sandefjord, Langesund, Kristiansand, Stavanger, and Bergen. Please note that unaccompanied trailers must use Digitoll for maritime transport.
